Story
Join our team of fundraisers taking to the skies on Saturday, 9th May 2020 for the thrill of a lifetime.
You'll experience speeds of an adrenaline pumping 120mph while freefalling up to two miles! Then, as the canopy unfolds, you'll become aware of the sudden peace, quiet and tranquility, with splendid views across our nature reserves. Dunkeswell Airfield is one of the most scenic drop zones in the country ...and offers free camping too!
Over half of UK species have declined since 1970, while more than one in ten are under threat and at risk of disappearing altogether. But thanks to fundraisers like you, we are helping to change this.
Your fundraising will help us build on our huge conservation success stories in Somerset. Our Green Down Reserve is now home to 36% of the UK population of Large Blue Butterflies, a species once extinct in Britain. Our wetland reserves are a stronghold for Bitterns in Somerset, and we've discovered that a pair of Night Herons roosting on our Westhay Moor National Nature Reserve have fledged two chicks - this is the first time in recorded history that a pair of Night Herons have bred in the UK!
