A 73-year-old woman, once someone's daughter, perhaps a sister, a friend, or even a mother, spent her final days in a hospital, with no family by her side. Now, she rests in a cold hospital mortuary, with no one to claim her, no one to arrange her funeral, and no one to pray for her.

The local authorities have done all they can to search for her next of kin, but no one has come forward. She has no family to mourn her, no loved ones to bid her farewell. But as a community, we cannot let her depart from this world without dignity. It is our duty as Muslims, and as human beings, to ensure she is given a proper burial, with the respect and honor she deserves.

In Islam, a dignified burial is a fundamental right of every individual. It is an act of kindness, a final farewell that brings peace to the soul of the departed. Right now, this woman has no one—except us. This is our chance to step forward and ensure that she is laid to rest with the proper rites of a Muslim funeral.

Iqbal & Sons Bereavement Services has taken responsibility for arranging her burial. However, the cost of a funeral, including the burial plot and necessary expenses, amounts to £2,000.
