Story
Skipton Food Bank is fundraising for its tenth Christmas Appeal to support local people in need. What a year it has been! We have met many new people seeking support this year, and we know that there is a lot of worry the pressure of Christmas.
The Food Bank started at Christmas in 2010, as a group from Skipton Baptist Church wanted to give Christmas Hampers to families who were struggling. From that, they saw that people need help all year round and so the Food Bank was born!
In 2019, the Food Bank gave out 256 parcels of Christmas in a bag to families and single people in Craven who had been referred by local agencies for support. Each parcel holds a mix of sweet and savoury items, including Christmas puddings, mince pies, and a small toiletry gift.
"All of the items we give out are generously donated to us by the public. We couldn't do it without their support. We hope to make this year the best ever for all of the people who are referred to us. We have never had to say no to someone yet because our supplies have run out, even though it has been close at times!" Phil Sage, Food Bank Manager
The Food Bank helps anyone who is in financial need in the Craven area. We need your financial donations to help us top up the food items so that everyone gets a full parcel, and to cover delivery costs to take parcels to those who can't get out.
How you can help :

2. Donate money to help with our costs
