Story

Skipton Foodbank has been providing emergency food parcels to families in Craven since 2011.

We work on a referral basis with local agencies to supply food parcels to those who are struggling to feed themselves or their families.

Skipton Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust network of foodbanks. We also now operate out of ‘The House’ which is part of Skipton Baptist Church, next door on Otley Street. We distribute our parcels from there and offer people a cuppa and a listening ear when they pick up food from us. We work alongside our CAP (Christians Against Poverty) debt centre and Renew cafe aiming to be a welcoming place to help and signpost people who need further help. We currently also have an advisor from the Citizens Advice Bureau in both our sessions, they are able to give face to face advice on benefits, bills, housing and employment issues. This project is currently funded by The Trussell Trust.

This is only possible due to the generosity of people through donations of food and finance.
