Story

Kephus Chione was born with physical and intellectual disabilities in rural Malawi. He didn't begin walking until age 3 and struggled with basic skills like eating and visiting the toilet. When he got to primary school he was far behind his peers. Not knowing what else to do, his parents turned to Saint John of God's Child Development Centre. There he got the compassionate and experienced one-on-one care he needed and he began to thrive, so much so, that Kephus was one of six students referred to a mainstream primary school to continue his education. Now at age 13, Kephus doesn't let anything hold him back!
