We’re holding our first ever Light up a Life service on Wednesday 6 December 2022 at St John’s Information Centre at 6pm.
Light up a Life is a nationwide campaign, run by the hospice movement to help families and friends to come together to remember and celebrate the lives of lost loved ones. Our aim is to bring this tradition into the heart of the Doncaster community by holding a dedicated service around our very own tree of lights.
Our Light up a Life service is available to anyone who has lost someone, not just those people whose loved one was cared for by the Hospice. Anyone who would like to dedicate a light and see it shine bright can donate to make a dedication. Each light represents a life and will remain lit throughout the Christmas period in our Tree of Lights in St John’s Information Centre.
Please join us at 6pm on Wednesday 6 December in the grounds of St John’s Information Centre, for a service of carols and readings, as well as a special appearance from the Salvation Army Band, along with other musical performances, which we unveil nearer the time.
Sponsor a light and you will receive a St John’s Hospice Light up a Life tree decoration, on which you can write your personal dedication and then hang on our tree of lights during the service, along with one to hang on your own tree at home.
If you are unable to attend the service, we will also be streaming it live on Facebook for you to watch at home.
Following the service, refreshments will be available in St John’s Information Centre.
In order to receive your Light up a Life Tree decorations to make your dedication, please ensure you register your details on our website here: https://www.stjohnshospicedoncaster.co.uk/fundraising/
