Story
We are trying to best support our community during this time of deep fear and uncertainty. Any money raised through this campaign will be used for the benefit of the whole community, regardless of faith, ethnicity, age, gender, or sexual orientation. Primarily it will be used to:
Support the work of Brownswood Mutual Aid, a group of local volunteers who are offering a huge amount of time, energy and love to ensure nobody is left isolated in the local area.
Ensure our Soup Kitchen is able to continue to support the homeless community, as well as making extra supplies of home made soup to be delivered to those who would like it.
Enable us to run a non-contact, non-referral Food Bank that can allow anyone access to basic provisions in as safe as way as possible.
If there is money left in this fund at the current crisis (whenever that might be), any remaining funds will be transferred into our Soup Kitchen fund and be used to directly support that ongoing work.
Update: 22nd March 2020
We have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity of so many to support the response to the COVID-19 crisis. As this is written, volunteers are delivering 5000 flyers around the ward offering the services of Brownswood Mutual Aid.
Though this campaign is raising a wonderful amount of money for this cause, it's not able to pay for keeping the building open. The general income of our church has suffered due to COVID-19. Our hall hirers have understandably been forced to cancel their classes, and without any services we're unable to take any collections. If you'd like to donate to our general funds, you can do so through our general donations page here .
