Story
My education is the best thing I can do for myself. It ensures a future full of opportunities that I otherwise wouldn't have. It gives me the chance to be a leader in something that I'm passionate about. I'm so thankful for WWIN and the source of encouragement and inspiration that its been throughout these last couple of years.- Sophie
Meet Sophie
Sophie watched her mom struggle to provide for her and her sister in the early years of their lives. Her biological father wasn't available for financial or emotional support. Being a single mom was difficult and Sophie understood the stress her mother went through to raise her and her sister. Her mother worked hard, was able to gain steady employment, and created a stable life for them. Sophie understood education could lead to a career and a different lifestyle. Sophie worked hard to pay for tuition, but the WWIN grant offered her the ability to avoid taking out additional loans and being in further debt. Her hard work has paid off as Sophie graduated in May on the Dean's list at Whitworth. She has been accepted into Eastern Washington University to pursue a Masters in Social Work beginning this Fall. She inspires us every day with her drive to achieve. Congratulations Sophie!
