Story
Sight Life provides the essential help, advice and support for anyone with sight loss across South Wales in Cardiff, Swansea and Rhondda Cynon Taff. We have a base in the centre of Cardiff at our activity and resource centre and carry out our work via home-visits, activity and peer support groups in the community and through 1:1 sessions to blind and partially sighted people to improve health and wellbeing and reduce isolation. We provide advice and support to help people exercise, increase confidence and self-esteem, and reduce incidents of falls and accidents. We also help people with sight loss to be digitally included and connected by providing tech support and assessments.
Below are some quotes from service users:
“When you left my house I cried out of relief and happiness. I was given so much hope and realised that I’m not on my own anymore.”
“When I was diagnosed partially sighted, I was totally scared and desperate. I was sent to Sight Life and I never looked back after that! They were brilliant, they introduced me to members who had similar problems to me; I had awful fears and they helped take them away because they inspired me to learn ways to cope and embrace life instead! It totally transformed my attitude"
