Brighter Futures is the registered charity of Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and supports services at Great Western Hospital in Swindon and in the community, health sites across Swindon. Every year 4,000 children are admitted to Great Western Hospital Children's Ward, many with long term medical conditions. Children of all ages from babies up to 18 years old, come in for the day, or repeatedly over several years, whilst others sadly are inpatients for much longer periods.
For many children, a stay away from the comforts of home and family can be a frightening and bewildering experience. The charity/ appeals aim is to make the Children's Ward a welcoming place offering young patients a home away from home to spend precious time with their families.
Brighter Futures wants to transform the ward with equipment that will enhance the service on offer to families and make life that little bit easier for our staff and that's where our monetary donations and fundraising can really help. With our help, we can fund that extra special level of care in order to make a real difference to patients, their families and the staff who treat them, above what the NHS is able to provide.
