Zambia, Africa has an entire generation of children left behind by the AIDS pandemic. Oftentimes these orphaned children are raised by extended family members who are living day-to-day and struggle to care for an additional child. This means the basic needs of the orphans may go unmet.

Many caregivers of orphans lack basic forms of transportation and depend on walking everywhere they go. This limits opportunities to where their legs can take them on a daily basis. For orphans, this lack of transportation can lead to all kinds of hardships, from a 10km walk to school to the risk of danger and exhaustion while traveling long distances in the heat. The inability to have consistent transportation to school results in many orphans not completing their education.
