Story
Inspired by Arlene Kennedy from the Class of 1969 to give back and to encourage greater female enrollment, She's A Hound celebrates the women of Notre Dame, past and future, two fold - through the power of story and by raising funds to support female Hounds now and in the future.
More than ever the world needs more Notre Dame women. As we enter the new centenary of Notre Dame, Pere Athol Murray's timeless The Notre Dame Man and Woman articulates beautifully what he aspired all Hounds to be. When you read the stories, you will see they reflect much of what he wished for us. May these stories inspire parents and their daughters that Notre Dame is where they should be.
In the spirit of Pere's belief that no one person should be denied the opportunity to attend Notre Dame, She's A Hound funds will be used to:
* Build awareness - about the Notre Dame community and all it has to offer young aspiring women
* Tuition assistance - with student bursaries as needed to ensure their time at Notre Dame is sustainable long-term
* Program support - beyond tuition, provide financial support as needed to offset other expenses such as class trips, student events, supplies and equipment
* Enhance existing amenities - to ensure the health and well-being of our young women in their home away from home at Mother Teresa Hall
Dear Women and friends of Notre Dame, please join us in this inaugural fundraiser and do what women do best - create impact! Your donation will help establish a lasting legacy for our female Hounds now and for generations to come . Ever grateful for your unwavering support, in the name of our Lady, Our Notre Dame...Arlene Kennedy '69
Frequently we will feature stories of Women of Notre Dame. We continue to welcome stories from all #SHESAHOUND Alumnae - if you care to submit more than one, we welcome that too! Our goal is to publish a collection of stories with proceeds from the book to go to #SHESAHOUND. Email us your favourite story/memory to shesahound@notredame.ca . Thank you!
