Story
The need for emergency shelter and food among Union County residents is staggering. The Covid pandemic and increasing lack of affordable housing have exacerbated the need for food and shelter from the Community Shelter.
Thanks to you, our generous community, we are able to provide shelter and food to those who need it.
Last fiscal year, the Shelter provided:
23,168 nights of emergency shelter to 583 individuals, including single adults and children
52,221 meals in our dining hall to temporary onsite residents and community neighbors in need of food
647, 045 pounds of food in our twice-monthly drive-thru pantries for independently living neighbors experiencing food insecurity
Traditionally, Union County Public Schools, churches, business and individuals have conducted fundraising campaigns through the Souper Bowl of Caring to support these services to our fellow Union County residents. We thank you for your previous efforts and hope you can again support the Souper Bowl this year.
This Just Giving program is an easy way for your group to start an online campaign that can be promoted across various electronic platforms and in print.
Click the orange Start A Fundraiser button and lead your group to raising money.
Donations also can be made through www.UnionShelter.or/donate or by check mailed to 160 Meadow St;, Monroe, 28110. Be sure to let us know it's a Souper Bowl donation, and if desired, which school or church you support.
Thank you for your help to end hunger and homelessness in Union County.
