Story
We need your support to build a stunning outdoor sanctuary for patients and staff at the Northern General Hospital.
With your help, we are going to take a disused piece of land at the very heart of Sheffields Northern General Hospital, and transform it into a dedicated wellbeing garden to be enjoyed by patients and staff all year round.
The dedication of hospital staff is unrivalled and, on the back of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are committed to listening to patients and staff, understanding what makes their work easier, and giving them the safe, quiet, relaxing space that they need whilst they work or recover on our wards.
A garden such as this, which gives patients and staff somewhere to access nature, spend a period of calm and enjoy the outdoors is so important. This is such an exciting project that will make a huge difference to so many people. Chris Morley, Chief Nurse, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals
Our plan
Artist's impressions:
We have worked with staff to design a space that meets their needs. The garden will be full of calming spaces, places to meet with colleagues or friends, and opportunities for staff, patients and volunteers to get involved in activities. This is a community space, designed by staff, for both staff and patients.
We need your help to make this happen. Together, we can build the future of wellbeing for our hospital heroes.
You can support our Secret Garden Project and help provide this stunning sanctuary of support. Every penny that you are able to give will make a huge difference to staff and patients right across our hospitals and right across our city.
