In Memory of Shaun Pickering 1961-2023

We were all deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of Shaun.

As fellow athletes, colleagues, coaches, mentors, friends. fundraisers and family members, we will all have memories and stories to tell of how this giant of a man impacted on our lives.

Shaun's unwavering passion for athletics was surpassed only by his dedication to supporting others.

Following in his parents’ footsteps by excelling in the field of athletics and then continuing their legacy in the role of mentor and coach, Shaun inspired, supported and guided so many in their development.

Instrumental in establishing the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund (RPMF) following the death of his father in 1991, and latterly to commemorate his mother Jean’s passing 10 years ago, Shaun’s own legacy, aligning with that of his parents, will continue to provide invaluable support to young athletes.
