Story
Exercise is so important for both physical and mental wellbeing and should be accessible for everyone. Unfortunately, when you are living in clothing poverty, even 'free' outdoor activities such as walking and running and joining inclusive events such as parkrun are not possible when you cannot afford even a basic pair of trainers or some jogging bottoms and a t-shirt to wear. At #TeamSharewear we see all too often how transformative having the right clothing can be to the lives of our service users and we want to ensure that none of the people we help have #noWeartoRun.
We need you to join us in raising both awareness and funds for our work, helping us to highlight the link between clothing poverty and poor mental health and, most importantly, to be able to do something about it.
Take on a physical challenge this September as part of our #Sweatember campaign and help us raise vital funds. It can be anything from running to walking, swimming to cycling, skateboarding to BMXing... as long as it's a challenge to you! You might like to do a one-off event like a Half Marathon, or you might choose to take on an ongoing challenge throughout the month. As long as your challenge starts and ends in September, you're good to go! Set up your dedicated fundraising page today by selecting 'start fundraising' and share your challenge with your family and friends.
With your help, we will be able to reach so many more people living in clothing poverty and empower them to make positive change in their own lives, simply by helping them to access the outdoors and exercise opportunities. We all know ourselves the difference this makes for our mental health and so we're pleased you believe, like us, that everybody has the right to get outside, get fit and make positive change in their lives.
Thank you for your support, and we cannot wait to see all your challenges!
