Story
Stansted Hall & Elsenham Cricket Club
Stansted Hall & Elsenham Cricket Club was originally founded in 1947 in the village of Burton End.
The Club is a friendly, family orientated, village club set in beautiful, picturesque and quiet grounds in the heart of Essex. The main ground is at Stansted House and there is a second ground at Molehill Green, mainly used by the Junior Section.
The Club is part of the Herts & Essex Border League, affiliated with Essex County Cricket and has been ECB Clubmark accredited since 2005.
Stansted House 50th Anniversary Fund Raising Campaign
On 28th April 1974, Stansted Hall Cricket Club played against a Robin Hobbs Essex XI to celebrate the new ground at Stansted House. The XI included 3 England Test players, including 2 future England captains, Keith Fletcher and Graham Gooch.
To mark the 50th anniversary in 2024, the Club, now Stansted Hall & Elsenham, will be holding events at the Stansted House ground, with special guests, on Sunday 23 and 30 June.
Junior members will be invited to a special training session on 23 June.
Members, past and present, their families together with Sponsors and donors will be invited to a celebratory match day on 30 June. Further information will be shared later in the spring.
The Club would not exist without the support of its members, committee, long-standing sponsors, Nockolds & Russell Property and donors, including the Jack Petchey Foundation.
We would welcome any donations to the club’s 50th anniversary campaign to help Stansted Hall & Elsenham Cricket Club look forward to another successful 50 years.
If you would like to help the Club in other ways, from assisting with junior training or putting yourself forward to join the Committee, please contact one of the Committee or myself.
