Visit the charity's profileScunthorpe Hospital is currently being remodelled and a brand new state of the art Emergency Department (ED) and an Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) are being built. These new facilities will be a huge boost to the local community and will transform the type of care which is delivered through our amazing NHS Accident and Emergency Teams.
Our new facilities are for the people of Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas and we are proud to be giving back to our local communities who have helped us out so much over the years. You deserve the best we can provide and our amazing NHS staff are going above and beyond to help us fundraise to provide these wonderful enhancements for our local patients and their families.
We are fundraising to make your new A&E the best it can be by providing equipment and facilities you wouldn't normally find in your local hospital. There will be a specialist paediatric waiting area, designed with little ones in mind, with interactive lighting and floor panels, gaming units and vibrant wall art to make children's stay in the department less traumatic.
You'll be able to charge your phone whilst you wait in the mobile charge lockers provided by Health Tree Foundation as well as be kept informed through interactive patient info boards throughout the departments.
Daylight inside will be provided through specialist sky panels which create a calmer and less clinical feel to the hospital and there will be lots of ways you will be kept updated on your treatment and care plan whilst in the department.
