Story

Funds raised in our Set For Love Xmas Appeal will be distributed across a number of projects in developing countries focussed on creating sustainable futures for vulnerable children and young adults. These include projects to stop child labour and get children into education, construction of new schools, centres for the rehabilitation of young girls who have experienced sex trafficking and domestic abuse, the creation of sustainable resources including water wells.

We will be supporting our projects in the following countries:

Tanzania - Many families are still struggling following the lockdown & collapse of the tourist industry. There has been a huge increase in poverty & unemployment.

Children are being forced to give up their education to undertake back-breaking work in quarries for an absolute pittance. $200 will keep a child out of the quarries & in education for a year.

Uganda

During lockdown, many subsistence farmers were unable to go to the market to make money & were left with no choice but to eat their own produce& were left without the money to buy seeds to replant

£83 buys a seed pack & food sustainability.

Phillippines

Girls Development Centre - we intend to partially fund the building of a new centre in Indigo which will provide much-needed space not only for the 52 young women of from the children's village in CDO, but also for 750 children from the community slum areas. The centre will be focused on counselling, rehabilitation and vocational training. Many of these young girls have been through unimaginable horrors at the hands of sex-traffickers, kidnappers and domestic abusers.

Danushadam, Nepal

As is the case globally, the education of the local children in Danushadam has suffered due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the disruption to the progress of the students, the two young teachers that have offered extra support to the community, and who will be working in the education centre once it is functional, have lost their source of income. We intend to cover their salaries for a year so they can continue their much needed work.

India / Africa.

Have A Drink On Us - Just £15 will provide a family with clean, safe water for the next ten years!

Some of the funds raised will be used in our Fresh water well building programme that has already delivered over 68 wells & given 46,000+ people daily access to clean fresh water.
