2023 has been a special year for the South East Cancer Help Centre as we have been marking 40 years of helping people cope with cancer.
Established in 1983, we provide counselling, individual and group support, complementary therapies and information to people affected by cancer, within a friendly and caring environment at our Centre in Purley and outreach sites, including Croydon University Hospital. We are now open 6 days a week.
Anyone who has cancer or who has been affected by cancer in the last three years can become a member, including family members and primary carers.
We offer our members a wide range of support, tailored to meet individual needs. All services are confidential. No referral is needed, please contact us on 020 8668 0974.
Our services include:
Counselling/Talking therapies ( phone and in person)
Hypnotherapy
One-to-One Therapies: Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Hairdressing, Reiki, Facials & Craniosacral Therapy
Support Groups for specific types of cancer: Breast, Ovarian, Bowel & Prostate cancers.
Group Activities: Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Arts & Crafts & monthly Gong Bath
We have local NHS recognition but receive no funding from the NHS or Government and are entirely funded by donations.
It costs us approximately £600 a year to support one new member so the generosity of our supporters is much appreciated.
