Story
Sea Trout are Remarkable.
They are brown trout that decide to go to sea and just like salmon they return to rivers to spawn. We, in Sussex, are incredibly lucky that sea trout spawn in both the River Ouse and the River Adur making our Sussex rivers vital for this species survival.
Over many years our rivers have been changed, leading to problems for sea trout. People have straightened them for navigation, put in weirs which create barriers and removed precious trees. All these activities have had a negative impact on fish migration and wildlife in general.
Your support and donations means that we can continue to improve our rivers and make them accessible for sea trout again benefiting all wildlife and ourselves, who doesn't love a walk along a beautiful river!
By donating .....
£10.00 you could plant 2 trees along the river stabilising water temperatures and reducing bank erosion.
£25.00 you could pay for a suite of water testing in our laboratory to monitor oxygen levels and warn us of any potential pollution problems.
£75.00 you help fund 5m of gravel spawning beds for all fish species also providing shelter for many freshwater invertebrates an important food source for fish.
£250.00 you could pay for a school to visit our rivers helping to educate the next generation.
If we raise £40,000.00 we could build a fish pass over a weir opening up the upper reaches of the river for all fish migration but especially the beautiful sea trout.
By donating today you can make this happen, you can be part of a better future for our rivers and in turn a better future for us all.
Thank you so much for your donation and showing an interest in our cause it means a great deal to us.
