As a school, we are incredibly lucky to have the support of Sciennes Parent Council and our charity, Friends of Sciennes School (FSS), who both raise funding annually to help us achieve our shared aim of enhancing the educational growth and experience of our children, aligned to the Schools Quality Improvement Plan.

Due to the restrictions brought about by the pandemic, our ability to deliver many of our usual fundraising events has been seriously curtailed this year over the 2019/20 school year and is likely to continue for the remainder of 2020/21 and potentially beyond. We have set a number of ambitious fundraising targets for the years ahead with an overall aim of enhancing the educational growth and experience of our children.

How you can get involved

Both groups have created fundraising opportunities with the overall aim to deliver these targets and be accessible to the whole school community.

Friends of Sciennes School is launching this specific fundraising campaign in line with its charitable objectives, over the next 3 years. It will include a mix of seeking individual donations from the Sciennes community as well as encouraging sponsored events within the pupil body, staff and parents (when conditions permit). These events will provide further opportunities for our pupils to take the lead in ideas that will generate extra funds and enhance their leadership, organisational and educational skills.

Well release more information about ways you can raise money through this JustGiving campaign, but the very first step you could take, is simply to donate as much or as little as you feel possible at this point. You can do this by making a one-off donation or setting up a standing order through Justgiving to give an on-going monthly donation. We would encourage you to share our page with family members or neighbours in the community or through your social media. If you are a UK taxpayer, we will be able to claim Gift Aid too.
