Story
The crisis in Syria has resulted in catastrophic damage to schools and educational facilities. Many school buildings have been destroyed, and others have become make-shift shelters for families on the move
More than two million children in Syria are out of school, and a further 1.3 million are at risk of dropping out. For those born during the war; it is likely that they have never attended a day of school in their entire lives.
HIHFAD field team inspected and assessed schools in North Syria, to ensure the best outcome of the funds raised. HIHFAD concluded with the support of 60 M Trebles, we can support as many as 28 schools for around £21,500 to make a bigger difference than we originally anticipated. Which will allow us to help 7,000 students to return back to school.
The following activities will take place:
1. Rehabilitate 20 classes in 5 different schools each class will cost around $ 150, so the total will be $ 3000. Damaged classrooms, will include the installation of new windows, new doors, covering the holes and painting the walls.
2. Installation of 28 new diesel tanks in 28 different schools, each tank will cost $ 250, so the total will be $ 7000.
3. Installation of 28 new diesel tanks in 22 different schools, each tank will cost $ 200, so the total will be $ 4400.
4. Installation of 105 diesel heaters in 105 classes in 20 different schools, each heater will cost $ 50 including distribution costs, so the total will be $ 5250.
5. Distribution of 1000 school bags amongst 1000 children, each bag will cost $6 including the distribution cost, so the total will be $ 6000.
6. $ 1500 for admin costs including the Media documentation for all activities.
(please note each £ 1.00 equal $ 1.2964 as on the 21st Oct or, each $ 1.00 equate to £ 0.7713 )

We strongly believe in the importance of providing educational opportunities no matter how difficult the environment. Children need to learn and have a safe space even during the traumas of war. We want the children born into war in Syria today to grow into the adults who will rebuild their country in peace.
