Story
Scarlett is aged 6 from Kings Lynn. Already prior to birth she suffered from lack of oxygen to the brain which resulted in brain damaged and caused Cerebral Palsy. Scarlett suffers with incredible stiffness in her lower limbs and is unable to use her left arm and hand.
However, Scarlett who is a beautiful, determined and bossy six year old girl is working hard towards a more independent lifestyle but require surgery and aftercare to achieve this.
Scarlett require SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy) surgery which will operate on her spinal cord to reduce the signals from her brain causing muscle stiffness and everything required to support the procedure. We hope that this will help Scarlett to have less stiffness in her limbs, help her gain some independence and allow simple tasks to be less difficult such as sitting on the toilet, dressing and undressing.
Scarletts operation is not available on the NHS therefore Just4Children are raising money to fund her operation and aftercare. This will include new equipment such as static bike, standing frame, swimming sessions, physiotherapy sessions and anything else that will aid her recovery and allow her to gain the most from her operation.
