Story
How do Jenny and I connect with the relics of James, the son of Zebedee at the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, St. Bartholomew’s Church in Ducklington, Oxfordshire?
As members of the St. Bartholomew’s Church, Jenny and I would like to do what tens of thousands of people over the years do; to be pilgrims on the last 100km stretch of the Camino Frances in Northern Spain. We start our pilgrimage at Sarria and on Day 6 we arrive in Santiago de Compostela to attend the Pilgrim Mass in the city’s magnificent Cathedral.
On 17th June we are donning our walking boots and challenging our bodies to hike between 10 and 19 miles per days; in doing so we are attuning our minds to discern spiritual truths to be shared with pilgrims from all over the world. we will meeting on the Camino to Santiago.
Our challenge for you: please consider sponsoring our journey to collect funds for our 12th Century St Bartholomew’s Church.
During the six days of the pilgrimage we will endeavour to provide a travelogue, through a social medium, to ‘take-you-with-us’ on our journey On Sunday 30th June, Jenny and I are due to do preach to the congregation at St Bartholomew’s on the spiritual insights of our pilgrimage.
Your kind sponsorship will contribute to maintaining and improving the fabric of our 800 year old Church.
Thank you
Jenny and Johan
