Save Bridgend Dementia Hub: A Lifeline for Our Community
The Bridgend Dementia Hub has been a vital part of our community, offering support to over 825 individuals, families, and carers affected by dementia. From peer support and advice to activities that combat isolation and loneliness, the hub has become a safe space for those navigating the challenges of dementia. In addition to the main hub, our pop-up hubs in Porthcawl, Sarn, Maesteg, Blaengarw, and Pencoed ensure that this essential service reaches even more people.
The Dementia Hub has been a lifeline for my family. The support and advice we’ve received have made an incredibly difficult journey feel a little less lonely." - A carer.
The activities have given my dad a sense of purpose and joy again. The hub truly changes lives." - A family member.
Sadly, this lifeline is now under threat. To continue operating, we need to raise £102,000 every year. Without additional funding, the hub will be forced to close its doors by 31st March 2025, leaving many vulnerable individuals without the vital support they depend on.
We urgently need your help to secure the future of this service. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards sustaining the hub, allowing us to continue providing life-changing support to those who need it most.
The hub has been a safe haven where I can connect with others who understand what I’m going through." - A person living with early onset dementia.
You can also make a difference by hosting a fundraising event at work or with friends and family. Whether it’s a bake sale, a sponsored walk, or a quiz night, your efforts will have a lasting impact.
With your support, we can save the Bridgend Dementia Hub and ensure it remains a beacon of hope and connection for our community. Thank you for your generosity and for standing with us in this time of need.
