Time is running out, we are doing all we can to raise awareness. We have tried the BBC and managed to get on BBC South along with other regional radio stations.. If any of our followers know how to contact BBC breakfast, or any of the many famous, celebrity or online influencers on our behalf and introduce us, it may help
We are hoping a big push in the remaining time will have positive results
Our fantastic site is under threat. We have until 27th November 2021 to save Hydeaway which is the home of Bird Aid, a wildlife rescue centre and sanctuary that specialises in Gulls. We moved here in 2013 to build a permanent home for our disabled Gulls (which can live to 30 years), and to have a big enough space to rescue adult and baby Gulls. We didn't realise the demand would be so high and now take in 500+ birds every year from all over Southern England. Unfortunately, one of our former Trustees, who wanted to contribute funds, has now decided they want their money returned. Over the last 7 years we have built fantastic facilities that can never be replicated and this has largely been funded by the founders who work every day, for no pay, with a dedication beyond price. We cannot loseHydeaway as it is home to 150+ animals and helps to save thousands every year. We chose this site as the land and location are perfectly suited to helping the maximum number of birds. These disabled Gulls, and other animals, have been given the perfect conditions to thrive. We have also provided an environment where local learning disabled people can feel safe and supported as we encourage them to volunteer.
