Story

On June 10th, 2021 thirty cyclists cycled 400km across England over four days, stopping off at various Royal Palaces before heading to Sandringham Estate, Norfolk for the Finale. The cyclists took on this adventure to raise money for the British Asian Trust to support children in India and South Asia who have lost family members due to Covid by providing shelter, food, clothings and education.

Reading about this effort was very inspiring as my parents had been telling me what was going on in India during this Covid "second wave" and how this variant was more deadly than before. Luckily, my family in India hasn't been affected but many families have been devastated. I am 9 years old and I can't believe there are children my age or younger who have lost their parents due to Covid and become orphans overnight. Being here with my family in the UK makes me feel very fortunate.

Since I cannot cycle 400km across 4 days, I want to find another way to contribute to this fundraising effort. As art is one of my favourite subjects, I would like to create an artwork for each Palace (Highgrove, Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London and Sandringham) the cyclists visited to inspire others to donate to the 'Palace on Wheels' fundraising campaign. Once completed, I will upload a picture of my artwork onto this fundraising website and gift these original artworks to the Palaces.

I hope to raise £10,000 to help children devastated by Covid in India and across South Asia. Please support the riders and the British Asian Trust's work by donating.

Thank you in advance for your donation.
