As the USAR phase continues the SARAID team has handed over to our international colleagues who will continue the search for more miracle rescues. The Team has now returned safely to UK. In the early hours of 6th February 2023, a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck in southern Turkey and northern Syria, causing severe damage to buildings and infrastructure. Hours later a second powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck the region again. The death toll has risen to over 32,000 now and significantly more wounded and displaced.

All SARAID team members are unpaid volunteers. We are 100% funded by donations and do not receive Government or DEC funding. All funds raised are used to cover costs of deployments as well as to enable the team to train and be equipped so that we can be on call 24 hours day, 365 days.
