Story
We did it!! We climbed hill repeats until we reached the height of Everest, all 8848m on a classic Raleigh Chopper while dressed as Santa! We covered 211km with a team of CFC Santas to raise money to help children living with cancer and their families.
After a 12 year hiatus the CFC team are dusting off their Santa suits to take on their next epic challenge - Everesting.
We'll be riding hill repeats until we reach the summit, all 8848m and a total of 211km, on a classic Raleigh Chopper while dressed as Santa!
Day 1 went well and despite the rain our Santas smashed out 2100m in elevation on the chopper #soggysantas ❤️
Day 2 was a powerhouse of Santas and a whopping 4200m was climbed in some bright windy conditions.
Day 3 was our last day and to reach the top of 'Everest' we had a further 2700m to climb. We were joined by fresh Santa legs from our Charity Bike Shop Cheltenham - Santa suits were blurring they were going so fast!!
Please donate what you can to support our Santa's and to help more children living with cancer to get pedalling and conquer their own mountain. Children just like Aston, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour at 2 years old, Mum says;
Thank you so much for Aston's trike. Having no core strength and balance issues he has never been able to ride a bike. He has been out on his first ride today and had the best time! He managed a good 6 miles, with his dad running alongside. You have made him very happy!
Cyclists Fighting Cancer have provided over 9,500 new bikes and specially adapted trikes to children living with cancer and their families throughout the UK since the charity began in 2005. Activity and exercise has been proven to be the single most effective way of improving both physical and mental wellness for people surviving cancer.
