Oh what a year, 2020!

Last December a group of community minded individuals began dreaming about the launch of a brand new program in Sanilac County known as Dolly Partons Imagination Library. We set off in 2020 full steam ahead anticipating a successful year of establishing this new program giving our youngest citizens the opportunity to experience all the joy that can happen between the covers of a good book.

And we have succeeded!

With every curve ball that has been thrown our way, from COVID-19 stalling our initial fundraising efforts to the world being turned upside down, we have been able to start and propel this amazing program forward. In the midst of very uncertain times, each month since March this program has mailed a high quality, age appropriate book to all registered Sanilac County children, addressed to them, at no cost to the childs family.

And it doesnt end there!

Countless parents have shared how excited their child is when their new book arrives each month. Since inception, this program has enrolled over 733 local children and has provided over 7,000 books! We are forever grateful for all of the kind-hearted support our community has already given to initiate this program. As we begin to dream of what 2021 will look like, we anticipate that over 900 children will be enrolled on average each and every month through our local Imagination Library. That's a lot of books, memories, and learning that we can provide for just $25 per child for the year.
