We first met Sang when he was just 10 years old, helping his father to harvest palm fruits in the small South Gambian village of Medina Salam.
One of 9 children, Sang has helped support his family by growing cassava and other vegetables alongside the palm fruit harvesting.
Often studying by candlelight this hardworking, intelligent young man has now gained a university place to study for a BA in Development.
Two UK based sponsors (Annalouuse Oakland and Eileen Quick) have helped to support him this far.
Now his sponsors are asking for your help to raise £3,000 to pay for three years of university fees and travel expenses.
The Gunjur Project Association has agreed to monitor Sang for the duration of his time at university.
