Visit the charity's profileAt our core, Sandusky District Library is all about making literacy accessible to all. This is why we feel so passionate about adding a StoryWalk to our community.
The events of the past year have upturned our usual outreach and programming services. It quickly became a priority to adapt the ever-popular Preschool Story Time program to a format that worked during a time of unexpected Covid shutdowns. We succeeded in maintaining a strong connection to the families who attended with new virtual and take-home programming options. To our surprise, this flexible option reached even more families than ever before. During the summer of 2021, we are once again adapting the program in hopes of meeting in person once again.
A StoryWalk will be the highlight of outdoor Story Times.
Here at the Sandusky District Library, our goal is to make lifelong readers. A community StoryWalk will be another tool we can use to serve the community and share literacy with young and old alike in a new, fun way. We feel here at the library that our youngest patrons need to be exposed to literacy in multiple ways and that anyway we can make reading more accessible and enjoyable for them is worthwhile.
