Story
The 1st European School Sports Federation Open Educational Games for under 18’s in conjunction with the Special Olympics is a unique event which focuses on both education and sport. The aim of the Games is to foster unity, strengthen the bond between educational institutions and their students, advocate for a vibrant and active lifestyle, and inspire young talents to wholeheartedly embrace the world of sports, nurturing their skills to the fullest. Championing values at the core of these competitions lies the synergy between education and sports.
In representing England as part of the European Games our team will be involved in the lighting of the Olympic Torch for Paris 2024, cultural visits to historical heritage sites as well as various sporting events and competitions alongside other School teams from across Europe.
Four students from our Sixth Form classes have been selected to represent the England team from Sandside Lodge as recognition of their efforts and contributions to PE and School Sport at Sandside Lodge and the wider community. These students will be supported by three staff members to access the trip and various activities. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these students and something very special to be a part of. In order to attend the European Games, we need to fundraise £5,600 to cover the cost of the trip and would like to request your help in sponsoring our super team or support in other areas such as transport, kit or fundraising donations. Any support would be gratefully received to enable our students to attend this amazing adventure and competition. Donations can be made via the QR Code below. Thank you in advance for your valued support 😊
