Story
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Sanctuary Trust, the men's homeless charity in St Aubin.
We are proud of how far we have come and, since 2011, we have helped over 300 men address their issues and addictions, identify job and training opportunities, and, successfully move back into society with a renewed confidence and self-esteem.
Our mission is to eradicate homelessness in Jersey but, as a result of Covid-19, we have seen a marked increase in the number of people requiring our help.
We are desperate to help and, as part of our anniversary celebrations, we have big plans to extend our reach and continue supporting those in need.
To help us provide sanctuary, support and hope to our homeless we are asking members of the public to take part in Sanctuary Trust 10 with a personal 10 challenge that not only makes them feel good but also reminds them of the many daily challenges our homeless residents face.
Participants should choose a challenge designed around the number 10 and this could include a 10km run or dog walk, a bike ride through 10 parishes, a 10 minute sea-swim or 10 laps around your garden.
Challenges should be completed during the month of May and can be as creative, extreme or as moderate as preferred. Participants should remember that if they are taking part in a challenge as a group then they should adhere to the latest government guidelines on outdoor gatherings.
We would love to see some images of what you have been up to so please upload them to your page or online using the hashtag #sanctuarytrust10jersey
The first 250 people to register will receive a free Sanctuary Trust 10 t-shirt; an email will be sent with pick up times and a location.
