Story
Please join me with the Rotary Club of Sacramento Foundation and the Sacramento Children's Home to fundraise for the 8th annual Sacramento Century Challenge. The Sacramento Century Challenge will be held on Saturday, October 2nd begining and ending on Capitol Mall in Downtown Sacramento. The Sac Century Challenge is the Sacramento regions premier cycling event to benefit the Sacramento Childrens Home Crisis Nursery! Registration will open on 6/1 with two options for you to participate in this event. The first option is the in person bike ride on Saturday, 10/2 to wind through the scenic Delta wine region. Fun and flat distances: 100 mi., 63 mi., 36 mi., 16 mi. At this time we plan to have our Post Ride Festival with music, great food and beer and wine vendors. The second option for you to participate is to follow your own individual self-directed physical activity plan during the times and dates of your own choice. Depending on which option you choose, just get out and walk, run, hike, bike or swim! Any physical activity of your choice counts!
Our 2021 beneficiary is once again the Sacramento Children's Home Crisis Nursery which protects our communities most vulnerable children by offering a safe, supportive environment during times of crisis with two locations in Sacramento. The Crisis Nursery provides free, 24 hour emergency child care for children from birth to age five. The Crisis Nursery reduces incidents of child abuse and decreases family violence by offering a safe place for children and support services to adults. The Crisis Nursery spares children from trauma and strengthens families.
