Story
Garcia Street Urban Farm has been producing accessible, hyperlocal food for the San Antonio community and Alamo Colleges students since 2019. Featuring a market garden, orchard and native gardens, San Antonio College Eco Centro and San Antonio Housing Authority partnered to create the 4.1-acre educational growing space just 3 miles from downtown. Weekly Wednesday evening community markets offer produce and flowers at wholesale prices. To date, we have sold over 4,000 lbs. of fresh produce and donated over 7,000 lbs. to individuals and families in need.
Sadly, the farm's tractor was stolen during the pandemic, putting a major strain on our ability to continue our mission to feed, educate and grow a regenerative farm in the heart of the city. Your generosity today will help us get a new tractor and share the positive economic, social, and environmental benefits of locally grown food - thank you for donating.
