Story
Since the 1960s, the Society for Abandoned Animals has been helping lost, abandoned and unwanted animals in Manchester and the North West of England.
In 1994, the charity moved to our current site - Mosley Acre Farm in Sale, Manchester. It is in a wonderful location, sitting between the canal and the river, and conveniently located for all areas of Manchester and the wider area, as transport links are good. We are currently rebuilding and renovating the site to provide larger and better accommodation for our animals; provide a safe working environment for our team and volunteers; create facilities which can raise funds and create an eco friendly, bio-diverse outdoor space.
Being able to use the site to effectively raise funds is key as we enter into a period where more animals than ever are likely to need our help, coupled with increased demand on charitable giving.
We therefore want to build a small café which will cater to walkers, runners, cyclists and other towpath users; to visitors and will enable us to offer a wider range of food and drinks at events. It will also create a useful additional space for events and lessons.
*This Fundraiser will remain open for some time as there is a lot to do in advance to ready the site; to obtain permission and then design and build the new café. However, in the event the project cannot proceed or excess money is raised, funds raised in this fundraiser will go towards other building projects or ongoing animal care costs*
