Story
The natural amphitheaters and architectural marvels of the Temple To Music and the Bandstand have made Roger Williams Park an "essential place" for Rhode Islanders for almost 150 years. During COVID19, the Park has been more essential than ever, with hundreds of families coming to the Park to safely enjoy free pop-up performances by local musicians.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, symptoms of anxiety and depression are much higher as a result of COVID19 isolation and stress. The coming winter will be a difficult time for many, especially for neighborhoods with "essential workers" such as Park neighborhoods of Washington Park and Elmwood.
Imagine then, Roger Williams Park filled with music and families in the fragrance and warmth of spring! Imagine the joy of seeing neighbors and friends again, enjoying the peace of music as swans and swan boats glide behind the stage.
That is why we have launched this $5,000 campaign for another month of pop-up performances in Roger Williams Park. For every $5,000 we can create beautiful evenings for so many families after a long winter. Join us!
