Story
The LVE Charitable Foundation focus is on our young people based in the local community whom are the entrepreneurs, community leaders, innovators, role-models, employers and work force of the future.
Our aim from this challenge is to get 200 runners to run or walk 25/50 miles across a month. This can be done in a park, at home or locally on the streets. You can do any length runs or walks across the month so long as you achieve the 25 or 50 mile goal. Thats just a mile or two a day for a month. Alongside getting and keeping fit we are aiming for each runner or walker to raise a realistic amount of £200.00+ from work colleagues, family and friends which will help fund the LVE Charitable Foundations key projects across 2021. These projects will create opportunity, inspire and educate the youngsters from our local community.
Our projects for 2021 include;-
"Don"t Get Court" - an interactive day session that gets taken into schools & demonstrates in a hard hitting way the consequences of being involved in gang crime. The project follows a case from arrest, being charged and then the court case itself. Youngsters in the schools will be able to interact throughout the day by asking questions of the police, lawyers, former offenders and even parents of children murdered through knife and gang crime. Working alongside the Metropolitan Police the aim of this project is to educate and make the youngsters think and understand the consequences before getting involved in gang crime.
"Choices & Consequences" is an arts project aimed at young girls. We have written an original play telling the true stories of girls within our community that have been groomed into gangs. The play will be presented to children from all across the Lee Valley Corridor hoping to inform and point out to young girls the various ways that gang members attempt to groom them into their gang. The play itself will be directed by a professional theatre director but will also be assisted by a group of young people from within the community whom will be recruited to learn how to produce, operate lights, sound, create video backdrops, market the play, stage manage, create costumes & hopefully inspire the helpers to take an active role.
"1000 Young Men" is an ambitious project that we hope will create inspiration for a 1000 young men from our local community by introducing them to various local businesses, self made millionaires, local entrepreneurs and sport persons. The idea being to deliver across a week long programme 1000 local young men to attend and be inspired into a career.
