Story

Run For The 97 takes place in Stanley Park, located between Liverpool Football Clubs Anfield Stadium and Everton Football Clubs Goodison Park the perfect backdrop.

This years event will be extremely special as we come together in Stanley Park to run together and celebrate the lives of The 97 in a respectful and fitting way.

The fun run features 5K and 1 Mile distances. Overseas virtual registrations are also welcome.

Those taking part in person on the day will be presented with their commemorative medal when they complete their chosen fun run distance. Overseas virtual runners will be sent their run number and medal in advance of the event date.

By taking part in the 5K or 1 Mile, you are invited to fundraise through this page or make a one-off donation.

Please note: Although the fundraising for this event is being administrated by the LFC Foundation, this years four official charities are the LFC Foundation; Jamie Carraghers 23 Foundation; Everton in the Community; and Stanley Park junior parkrun. Together, they support the vision of creating a legacy event to honour The 97 while ensuring local communities benefit and they are extremely grateful for your support.

All monies raised through this dedicated Just Giving charity page will be split equally between the four named beneficiaries to support vital community outreach programmes.

Run For The 97 will now also honour LFC fan Andrew Devine, who sadly passed away in July 2021. Andrew received life-changing injuries at Hillsborough, he died 32 years after the disaster.

The event was first staged in 2015 as a positive community legacy event to celebrate the lives of the then 96 Liverpool fans who had died in the Hillsborough tragedy on 15 April 1989.

Run For The 97 also remembers the families of The 97 and the survivors, who have tirelessly fought for justice with the utmost dignity.

The event has raised more than £35,000 for charity since it was first staged in 2015.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you in Stanley Park on Saturday 21 May 2022.
