Story
Run For The 96 was first staged in 2015 as a positive community legacy event to celebrate the lives of the 96 Liverpool fans who died in the Hillsborough tragedy on 15 April 1989.
Run For The 96 also remembers the families of The 96 and the survivors, who have tirelessly fought for justice with the utmost dignity.
Stanley Park is a fitting event location between the home grounds of Liverpool Football Club and Everton Football Club.
The 5K route includes 96 Avenue at Anfield Stadium, where many runners take a moment to pay their respects at the Hillsborough Memorial. The course also features Goodison Park, to recognise the support given to the Hillsborough families by Everton Football Club.
Participants must register by visiting www.btrliverpool.com/965k
If you are taking part in the 5K, you will receive a bespoke red or blue event T-shirt to wear on the day and a commemorative finishers medal. The 1 Mile entrants will receive a medal.
Your fun run entry fee covers all costs to stage and deliver all aspects of the event, including race numbers, medals, T-shirts, event set-up, and safety measures.
Please note: Although the fundraising for this event is being administrated by LFC Foundation, this year's official beneficiaries are the LFC Foundation; Jamie Carragher's 23 Foundation; Everton in the Community; and Stanley Park Liverpool CIC.
Together, they support the vision of creating a legacy event to honour The 96 while ensuring local communities benefit. All monies raised will be split equally between the four named beneficiaries. Run For The 96 has the support of the Hillsborough Family Support Group (HFSG)
