Story
Welcome to the official fundraising page for the 7th annual Run For The 96.
On Saturday 22 May 2021, participants will walk, jog or run to remember The 96.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, everyone is once again asked to run virtually and safely. The event includes 5K and 1 Mile options. Overseas registrations are also welcome.
Anyone wishing to take part must register at https://www.btrliverpool.com/965k and they will be sent their run number and commemorative medal. The entry fee has been reduced to reflect the virtual format.
By taking part in the 5K or 1 Mile, you are invited to fundraise through this page or make a one-off donation.
Please note: Although the fundraising for this event is being administrated by the LFC Foundation, this year's four beneficiaries are the LFC Foundation; Jamie Carragher's 23 Foundation; Everton in the Community; and Stanley Park Liverpool CIC. Together, they support the vision of creating a legacy event to honour The 96 while ensuring local communities benefit and they are extremely grateful for your support.
All monies raised through this dedicated Just Giving charity page will be split equally between the four named beneficiaries to support vital community outreach programmes.
Run For The 96 was first staged in 2015 as a positive community legacy event to celebrate the lives of the 96 Liverpool fans who died in the Hillsborough tragedy on 15 April 1989. Run For The 96 also remembers the families of The 96 and the survivors, who have tirelessly fought for justice with the utmost dignity.
Run For The 96 has the support of the Hillsborough Family Support Group (HFSG).
Last year we had a fantastic response from across the world with virtual runners pulling on their trainers in countries including Australia, America, Canada, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia and Thailand, as well as those taking part from across Liverpool and the UK.
Run For The 96 usually takes place in Stanley Park, located between Liverpool Football Club's Anfield Stadium and Everton Football Club's Goodison Park. We're already looking forward to seeing everyone run together in Stanley Park in 2022.
Thank you for your support.
