Story
In January, nearly 150 Oak Tree supporters took on the challenge to complete 26.2 miles in a month. Many saw it as a healthy and safe way to cope with lockdown, and to help their favourite charity at the same time. They ran, jogged, dog walked, fell-walked, cycled and made their miles in many different ways, quite often accompanied by their dogs. A friendly and diverse community formed in the private Facebook Group, where people shared their photos, stories, tips and experiences. There was plenty of support, also for those who ended up having to isolate.
At the end of the month, the most heard comment was: "Let's do this again!" - so here is the May Challenge, and we hope you feel you can support those who have signed up and pledged £15.
Inspired? Do you want to run a marathon in the month of May, in your own way, at your own pace? Be part of our fabulous online community? Earn a shiny, paw-some medal at completion? You can sign up and pledge £15 for your medal here.
Raising sponsorship is not a condition to take part, but we welcome every single supportive pound. All proceeds go directly to animals in need, both on our site and in the community.
