Story
It rained, it poured but the wet weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of pupils, parents and staff of Burdett-Coutts & Townshend CE Primary School who competed in the Run Kids Run event on Sunday 28th April at the Battersea Arena.
They joined children from 9 other primary schools taking on the challenge of a 1 or 2k run to raise money for their schools.
Everyone competing (including parents) gave it their all; the EYFS pupils completed 2 ½ laps and pupils in Years 1 - 6 completed 5 laps – what superstars! They all completed their allocated races and were awarded with a medal, and most importantly a sense of pride in achieving their goal.
Run Kids Run has secured funding from various sponsors: Apollo Investment Managers, Highland Europe, Pictet Group, Dolphin Square, Bloom Nine Elms, The Langham Estate, OPLM and McGee. They are donating £5,000 to help us to improve our school playground.
However, £5,000 is not enough to help us improve our playground...
Our PSA, The Friends of Burdett-Coutts (Charity #1167707) are working with us to realise our School Council Playground Pledges of improvements to our playgrounds. The total amount required is £16,000 to fund:
* Project 1: A REALLY BIG sandpit (one you can get into) and sand-play equipment for our EYFS & KS1 playground provision.
* Project 2: A dedicated comfortable seating area (similar to the one in the KS1 playground) and age-appropriate construction & imaginative play resources.
So far, we have raised £3,000 from the FoBC PSA and £5,000 from the initial sponsorship from Run Kids Run.
With a remaining £8,000 still to be raised, this is where you can help out...
By having as many family members, friends and neighbours sponsor our pupils to show your appreciation at their fundraising efforts. With your help we can raise much needed funds for our school.
You can also leave much appreciated messages of support.
Feel free to share the link to this page with family, friends and neighbours. We greatly appreciate all donations and can't thank you enough for supporting our school!
