Story
Since Karibu Centre's inception 10 years ago, there has been an incredible positive impact for underserved young learners. Karibu students with access to computers and student-focused curriculum have outperformed their peers by two grade levels and achieved 100% acceptance rates into government schools. Now Karibu Centre is excited to bring its proven educational model to a new community in need. As a key partner, we want to support this rural community. We believe we can improve educational outcomes at the new school using Karibu Centre's proven educational model and learnings from Thika.
By taking part in our Virtual Run for Education, you can help raise vital funds for this exciting new education project from virtually anywhere in the world. Set a goal for your running distance, set a fundraising goal (as little as $15) and then get moving to complete your goals by October 9, 2021. You will be participating alongside an incredible community of supporters from around the world, all taking part to ensure we can empower children from indigenous nomadic tribes through education.
Our goal is to raise $50,000. These funds will be used for the most critical educational resources and infrastructure to serve the community. This includes a solar system, satellite internet installation, a social workers vehicle and classroom supplies for the first year of operation.
