The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileRuils is a local charity that supports disabled people to live independent lives. The cost of living crisis has left many of our clients struggling and we have long waiting lists for our Counselling and Befriending services.
Counselling at Ruils provides a safe and supportive space for parents of disabled young people, or those who are disabled or have mental health conditions themselves, to discuss their concerns and find ways to cope. Our service is unique locally, as it is free of charge to access. It costs us £257 to deliver a series of 12 Counselling sessions to a client who needs support.
One of our clients said:
“With counselling, I have become more able to feel balanced, reflect on my behaviour and see better my strengths and weakness. Feeling supported gives me the energy to keep going with life and handle the many complexities in it.”
To add much needed capacity to our Counselling service, a team of 13 members of staff, volunteers and supporters is going to take on the Three Peaks Challenge for the first time. We'll be attempting to summit Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours.
It's going to be a tough one! Please support us as generously as you can.
