Story

Sign up to our Rudolph Run 2022 and receive your sponsorship pack, including a pair of reindeer antlers to wear during the event. You will choose the date, location and distance of your run, giving you maximum flexibility. As a charity we appreciate that these are difficult times, with the rise in cost of living, therefore rather than setting a sponsorship target we just ask that you raise what you can, which will help fund vital Hospice services.

Your fundraising will help Birmingham St Marys and John Taylor Hospices to provide expert palliative and end of life care to people across Birmingham. You will be helping to ensure the best hospice care is available for all patients, families, and carers across our community, wherever and whenever they need it.

By helping raise money you could support people like Niamh to cope with their grief when a loved one passes away.

Niamh was just seven years old when her nan passed away. She was devastated as her nan was a big part of her life and she missed her a lot. With the support from one of Birmingham St Marys Hospice bereavement counsellors she was able to share her feelings and emotions to support her through the heartbreak that comes with grief;

Nan was our rock, she was always there for my mum, my brother, and me. So, when she passed away, I was completely heartbroken, and I felt like a part of me was missing which really knocked my confidence. I started going to the Hospice for counselling every week. We would play games, draw pictures and do lots of crafts. I remember her favourite colour was blue, so I put together a memory book called Nanny lived in a Blue World. Having the support from the hospice helped me to build up my confidence again, and I felt secure and happy once again.
