Next week, I am due to have my next round of treatment in London, which is rapidly becoming the epicentre of the coronavirus. I dont know whether I should go. I dont know what is riskier going for my treatment and potentially being infected, or not having treatment and potentially allowing my cancer to become active again. What a choice.
But before all that, I am a mum.
My son lives away in Guernsey. He works in hospitality and is worried about his job. My daughter has symptoms and is self-isolating.
I cant see either of them. I cant do what a mum does and reassure them that everything is going to be ok."
People with lung cancer are at high risk of serious illness should they catch coronavirus.
Now, more than ever, we are here to support people living with lung cancer, people like Heather.
Demand for our services, including financial help and our Ask the Nurse service, is at very high levels.
However, with events cancelled, social distancing impacting on fundraising and our retail stores forced to close, we may not be able to help everyone.
We are calling on our supporters to make an urgent donation to ensure those with lung cancer get the help, support and information they need at this uncertain and anxious time.
