Rosie came into us after a member of the public spotted her in their garden in Tooting. She looked very nervous, was covered in fleas and was obviously in heat with various toms paying her visits! We trapped her as soon as we could and brought her in. When we got her checked at the vets they told us she was pregnant.
We got her into a foster home so she could be safe and comfortable for the birth which happened very quickly on November 8th. Five healthy black kittens who are all doing well and mum is doing a great job caring for them. We did have a new home lined up for Rosie who is now waiting until the kittens are old enough to leave her.
Although the kittens will mainly feed from mum over the next 8 weeks, Rosie will need lots of extra food and eats almost constantly to supply enough milk to feed her 5 kittens. We will also have to pay for each kitten to be vaccinated, flea and wormed, microchipped and neutered. This will cost the branch at least £800. If you can afford to help us give these kittens the best possible start in life, please donate to Rosie's kitten fund.
